Trial Preparation

Our attorneys have the skill and experience necessary to prepare for a successful trial. We are well versed in the legal and evidentiary issues that generally arise at trial and skilled at researching the specific legal issues in any given case.

Our trial strategy will include deciding whether it is beneficial to secure an advance ruling on issues likely to arise at trial (e.g., use of prior convictions to impeach the client) and, where appropriate, we will prepare motions and memoranda (i.e., motions in limine) for such advance rulings.

We consider all steps necessary to complete investigation, discovery, and research in advance of trial, so that our attorneys are confident that the most viable defense theory has been fully developed, pursued, and refined. This preparation includes consideration of:

(1) subpoenaing all potentially helpful witnesses as well as physical or documentary evidence;

(2) arranging for defense experts to consult and/or testify on any evidentiary issues that are potentially helpful;

(3) reviewing transcripts and/or recordings of prior proceedings;

(4) preparing trial exhibits such as photographs, videos, charts, maps, and diagrams; and

(5) carefully planning direct examinations and cross examinations of witnesses.
