Bench Trial or Jury Trial

In criminal cases, the defendant has the right to a trial either before a judge (a.k.a. “bench trial”) or before a jury. We advise our clients about which type of trial we believe to be the best strategic choice, but the decision of whether to proceed before a judge or a jury is the client’s decision alone.
